An unidentified man has died from his injuries after running into the burning effigy at Burning Man. According to the New York Post, "The unidentified party-goer was chased by firefighters as he entered the bonfire in Black Rock City, Nevada at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday." It is not clear, at this time, as to why the man ran into the blaze.
Burning Man is a nine day arts festival that takes place in the temporary city of Black Rock City. The festival's climax is when a giant wooden effigy is burned. In reports of the incident, the man was able to break through the human chain of security surrounding the blaze and evade fire fighters. The unknown festival goer was quickly pulled from the inferno, but he had sustained major burns.
