It has been three years since Philly singer-songwriter Kurt Vile released his last record b'lieve i'm goin down . Since then, Vile has kept himself busy. He released (and toured behind) an album with Courtney Barnett in 2017 titled Lotta Sea Lice ,  and he even opened for Neil Young in Quebec. When Vile released the single "Loading Zones" a month ago, fans were excited at the prospect of new music being right around the corner.  Yesterday, Sept. 10, Vile released the next single from his forthcoming record Bottle It In . "Bassackwards" is a nine-minute self-reflective jam. A press release from Matador Records  describe the tracks on the new record as Vile moving into unexplored territory. Lotta Sea Lice is the album you did not know you wanted but you definitely now need. When it was announce d in August that Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile were releasing an album together, the music world let out a collective shriek of excitement. The collaboration between Barnett, Australia's wittiest songwriter, and Vile, Philadelphia's most relaxed guitarist, came together like a match made in heaven.  Vile has a distinctive rambling drawl that leads the listener down the rabbit hole. While on the other hand, Barnett's stream of consciousness delivery, while similar in nature, compliments Vile with its clear and conciseness.  Lotta Sea Lice  opens with the song " Over Everything ." The song is a good overview of what the next eight songs are going to be like. "Over Everything" was the first song released from the album. Lotta Sea Lice , the much anticipated album from indie rock icons Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile drops October 13th. Music videos for the songs "Over Everything" and "Continental Breakfast" have been released in the last few months. Radio station KCRW just put out a two videos of the duo playing the songs "Over Everything" and a new song "Blue Cheese" just in time for the release of the album. Lotta Sea Lice will be out tomorrow via Matador Records .

Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett are two of the biggest names when it comes to story driven indie rock. When it was announced that they were collaborating on a new album titled Lotta Sea Lice , the indie music world got excited. The two released their first single "Over Everything" on August 30th. On September 26th the second single "Continental Breakfast" was released. Along with the song, a music video was released. Unlike the video for "Over Everything," the video for "Continental Breakfast" is actually in color. The video features shots from both Vile and Barnett's personal life. The song is about maintaining their friendship while live a world apart. The final shots in the video are Vile and Barnett speaking to each other over the phone.
