Tom Petty Dies At 66



Rock 'n' roll icon, Tom Petty died Monday. The Heartbreakers frontman was found unconscious and not breathing in his Malibu home Sunday night. TMZ reports that Petty suffered full cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital and put on life support.

Petty just finished up a 40th anniversary tour with The Heartbreakers where he played over 50 shows in 24 states. His final concert was Monday, September 25th where he played three sold out shows at the Hollywood Bowl.

Petty's career spanned 13 albums with The Heartbreakers, three solo albums, and a supergroup with Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Bob Dylan titled Traveling Wilburys.

Songs like "American Girl," "Refugee," and "Free Fallin'" put Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on the map '70s and helped Petty leave a mark on music.
