Father John Misty, Josh Tillman, released a music video for his 13-minute epic "Leaving LA." The song is the focal point of his album Pure Comedy, released earlier this year. With no choruses, the song is well aware of what it is. A line from one of the verses says, "Some 10-verse chorus-less diatribe." The music video for "Leaving LA" is a bit of a departure from the surreal styling of "Total Entertainment Forever" and the stop motion animation of "Things It Would've Been Helpful To Know Before The Revolution." The video was shot in black and white and features studio performance of Tillman with his acoustic guitar and a group of string players. Shots from the video are featured in the "making of" documentary for Pure Comedy which was also directed by Grant James and Josh Tillman directed the video.
Pure Comedy is out now via Sub Pop.
