Beach Slang Gets A Redesign As Quiet Slang

Philadelphia punk rocker and Beach Slang frontman James Alex has decided to take a step back from loud anthemic punk. A clip of a piano rendition of the song "Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas" popped up on Beach Slang's Youtube account a few weeks ago, and on August 24th the full song was released. The single comes before the next release from the punk who never grew up. However, the new EP We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags is not billed as a Beach Slang release. Instead, its being released on the moniker Quiet Slang.

James Alex began touring under the name Quiet Slang late last year when he had to tour as a solo act after the drummer, JP Fletcher, quit before the tour and guitarist, Ruben Gallego, was fired over sexual assault allegations.

We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags will not feature the loud rock guitars that Beach Slang is known for. Instead cellos, pianos, and vocals will make up a softer, more gentile sound on the EP. The EP is available for pre-sale now on bandcamp and iTunes.

We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags will be released via Polyvinyl on October 13th.
