Brooklyn rock band Grizzly Bear has released their fifth studio album. Painted Ruins dropped on August 18th, five years after the release of Shields. The new album contains the previously released singles "Mourning Sound," "Four Cypresses," and "Neighbors."
Painted Ruins has no shortage of dense sonic layers that Grizzly bear is known for. For someone (like myself) who is new to the band, it can be a little disorienting on the first listen. This album requires a few spins to fully let the album unfold for the listener.
Grizzly Bear has plans to go on a large tour of North America and Europe this fall.
