The National - Sleep Well Beast

One of indie rock's most consistent bands is back with their latest collection of somber, contemplative, and excellent tracks. Follows 2013's Trouble Will Find Me and 2016's Day of the Dead compilation. Includes singles "The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness" and "Guilty Party," among others.



Alex Cameron - Forced Witness

Quirky Australian singer-songwriter Alex Cameron presents his sophomore album. His debut came out in 2013, and was re-released in 2016 by Secretly Canadian. Features his duet with Angel Olsen, "Stranger's Kiss," and "Runnin' Outta Luck."



Alvvays - Antisocialites

Canadian indie-poppers release their second album. Includes "In Undertow," "Dreams Tonite," and "Plimsoll Punks." Their last release was 2014's self-titled record.



Charlie Parr - Dog

Duluth's own blues master returns with another album. Follows Stumpjumper (2015) and includes "Peaceful Valley."



Death From Above  - Outrage! Is Now

Canada's only notable bass/vocals duo (fka Death From Above 1979) releases their second post-comeback album. Includes "Freeze Me" and "Holy Books."



Deerhoof - Mountain Moves

Experimental rock icons decided that Christmas comes in September and gifted the world with a new album. Features Juana Molina, Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier, and Xenia Rubinos. Preceded by last year's The Magic.



Lunice - CCCLX

Montreal DJ, of TNGHT fame, releases his debut album. Follows his pair of 2011 EPs. Features SOPHIE, Le1f, and Denzel Curry.



Mount Kimbie - Love What Survives

UK electronic duo deliver their third album, and second on Warp Records. Features King Krule and James Blake.



Neil Young - Hitchhiker

Originally recorded in 1976, this long-buried album finally sees the light of day. Includes new songs "Hawaii" and "Give Me Strength." Check out our coverage of it here.



Sparks - Hippopotamus

Influential LA glam-pop weirdos release their first album in eight years, excluding their 2015 collaborative album with Franz Ferdinand for FFS.



Ted Leo - The Hanged Man

Indie punk hero returns with a Kickstarter-funded record after a seven-year hiatus. It is his debut solo album and first one without his band, The Pharmacists.


Tori Amos - Native Invader

Emblematic pianist and singer-songwriter releases her 15th (!) album. The record is themed around Nature, rebirth, and death.



Zola Jesus - Okovi

Nika Roza Danilova releases her sixth and best album under the Zola Jesus moniker. Includes previously released tracks"Exhumed," "Soak," and "Siphon."
