Not quite as many releases as last week, but there's still reason to be excited. Mostly for Many Rooms' debut, but also the other stuff!
Many Rooms - There Is A Presence Here (Other People)
Brianna Hunt's debut as Many Rooms is finally here. I say 'finally' like it has been widely anticipated, but it's really only been anticipated by me and Stereogum. Regardless, the follow up to 2015's excellent Hollow Body EP is sure to satisfy fans of ambient-inspired folk pop that deals primarily with issues of faith (which I realize is a quite narrow audience). Includes the singles "Danielle" and "Which is to Say, Everything."

A Place to Bury Strangers - Pinned (Dead Oceans)
The fifth album from the Brooklyn experimental noise rock group and third for the Dead Oceans label. It is the band's first album with new drummer Lia Simon Braswell, who also contributes vocals. Additionally, it takes some inspiration from the 2016 election and the closing of DIY venue Death By Audio in 2014 (it was also the living space of singer/guitarist Oliver Ackerman). Includes singles "Never Coming Back," "There's Only One of Us," and "Frustrated Operator."

King Tuff - The Other (Sub Pop)
Guitarist for Ty Segall's live backing band, The Muggers, is back with his first album in four years (and fourth overall) under the King Tuff moniker. Entirely self-produced, with mixing from Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs), The Other serves as a contained reinvention for Kyle Thomas, the project's mastermind, after years of relentless touring. Half of the album has been released in single format; highlights include the title track and "Psycho Star."

Mouse on Mars - Dimensional People (Thrill Jockey)
Following a six year gap, the legendary German electronica duo return with their 11th album. Dimensional People is described by the band as a "conceptual puzzle composed around one harmonic spectrum within one rhythmic scheme," with a mostly constant tempo of 145 bpm inspired by Chicago footwork. Bon Inver, Beirut's Zach Condon, both Dessner brothers (The National), and many more contribute. Features the Justin Vernon collaboration "Dimension People Part III," and "Foul Mouth" with Condon and American rapper Amanda Blank.

µ-Ziq - Challenge Me Foolish (Planet Mu)
"Almost lost" album from Mike Paradinas' µ-ziq project. Originally recorded in 1998-99, the material coincides with the release of Royal Astronomy, µ-ziq's fifth LP. Challenge Me Foolish features vocals from Japanese singer Kazumi. Recently, Planet Mu has released several other "lost" µ-ziq albums, such as RY30 Trax and Aberystwyth Marine, both out in 2016. The last new material from Paradinas came in 2014 with the Rediffusion EP.

The Damned - Evil Spirits (Spinefarm)
Another 11th album! This time, from the original punk band, The Damned. Evil Spirits is the band's first new album in 10 years. Paul Gray makes his recorded return on bass, having been all but absent since 1982's Strawberries (he briefly returned in 1996). The album is also produced by famed Bowie collaborator and legend-in-his-own-right Tony Visconti.
