Music You Missed Last Week

Ear Coffee may have a New Music Friday article, but that does not mean we are able to catch all the music released that week. This is especially true when bands randomly releasing music on like a Saturday night (I'm looking at you Death Grips). So every week, presumably released on Mondays, there will be an article chronicling the singles, music videos, and "other stuff" that was released during the week.

To kick off the list is the new single from Florence and The Machine called "Hunger." This song follows up the first single "Sky Full Of Song" from Florence Welch's forth coming album High as Hope.  The new album is a follow up to her 2015 album How Big How Blue How Beautiful. Both "Hunger" and "Sky Full Of Song" sound like musical cousins to the bands last album; however, the new material seem to be the melancholy cousin to How Big How Blue How Beautiful. High as Hope will be out June 29th via Republic Records.

Last Friday, Skating Polly released their fifth studio album The Make It All Show. For those not familiar with the band, Skating Polly is an alt rock, punk, riot grrl band from Oklahoma. To accompany the release of the album the band put out a music video for the second track "Little Girl Blue and The Battle Envy." Skating Polly are currently on tour with Charly Bliss from now until the middle of June.  The Make It All Show is available on iTunes, Spotify, and anywhere else records are sold via El Camino records.

Ahead of him hosting of SNL, Donald Glover released a video for his new track "This Is America;" one of two new songs the rapper debuted on the legendary variety show. The video features Glover with a happily deranged face dancing to an uptempo beat. Glover's last album under the Childish Gambino moniker was 2016s "Awaken, My Love!".

Finally, Death Grips released a new track from their upcoming album Year of the Snitch. They also released a visually jarring video because they actually hate you. In all seriousness, "Streaky" is an absolute banger that only makes fans more excited for the new record. Hopefully the band doesn't break up, shelve the album, or forget to release it like they have been prone to do in the past.
